Daniel Swarovski was an Austrian glass cutter and jeweler born in Bohemia. In 1892 he patented an electric cutting machine that facilitated the production of lead crystal glass jeweler. This process has made the Swarovski crystals the best to be had in the world of crystal. The cut and colors are brilliant and add so much to any piece of handcrafted jewelry created with them. But Jewelry isn’t their only use. Swarovski was also a sponsor for the Phantom of the Opera Film, in which the "standing model" of the chandelier was composed of Swarovski crystals.
