Handcrafted Jewelry--Where do I find the time?

The days are getting so full of packing boxes, sorting out the good from the what was I thinking. You know all those things that at the time seemed to make sense. But now I have to look at things with a different perpective. Moving is a big job, much less moving half way across the country. So I find that I am having to juggle my time, home, website, family and then everything else that no one wants to do is of course mom’s job. The funny thing is that in this cleaning and organizing I have found, or refound some great beads and all I want to do is to create. But I have to be pratical and finish the house so that we can get it on the market. Then I will find some time to do something wonderful with those. But thank goodness that Debbie is still hard at work. Her latest creation is made with unakite a favorite stone of mine. My mother in her last few months with us. Was spent in a assisted living home. And those that took care of her, were so wonderful and caring. So for christmas that year I made all of the staff gifts made with unakite. Bracelets for the women and keychains for the men. This stone’s meaning is uncondtional love of humanity. Those who care for the elderly have this wonderful traite. So you see this stone has a very special place in my heart. You will find this handcrafted necklace at

Amazonite helps balance the emotions and gives physical stamina. I love finding out the gemstones meaning, It makes the giving of a gift that much more special. Handcrafted Jewelry--Where are all the blogs?

I looking at the websites that I have exchanged links with, very few have blogs. And yet this has been a very important part of moving our website in a good direction. So I have to ask myself why aren't these other sites using this wonderful tool. Could it be their fear of not looking professional. I want to know something about the people that I am buying from. When buying online there are so many unknowns. You can't look folks in the eye. See how they deal with others. So why wouldn't you want to learn what you can about the person that you are thinking of doing business with. My biggest problem is that I haven't made my blog personal enough. So my new goal is to make this blog a fun, informative and a place that you what to visit and spend some time. So to begin I love to make jewelry, creating is something that I find very fullfilling and to work on our website. This has been a big learning experiance this all takes place between taking care of my grandson. And packing for the move that our family is making in the next few months. I have four kids, that all still live at home, three grandkids. Two live with us. So the total in our home is nine. My husband and I have never believed in thow away kids, there have been many times that we have taken in kids. Many people don't understand why we haven't tossed our two oldest kids out they are 25 and 22 years old. But there are things that they don't understand. And maybe at a latter date I will go into more details. But for now they are all here, like I said we don't believe in thow away kids. They are ours and ours to take care of, till they can do it themselfs. Anyway The next few weeks will be crazy and many of they crazy things I will be sharing with you all. But for now this is goodnight and have a great tomorrow. Visit us at

Handcrafted Jewelry--Do you have a treasured piece ?

Some have a stand of pearls handed down from their grandmother. Or a mothers ring, maybe a bracelet from your first love. No mater what the piece is most women have a favorite. The one that makes them feel good when they wear it. Mine is the ring that was made for me from my mothers ring. I always feel save and loved when I wear it. It makes me feel close to her. My youngest daughter was given a pendant with a diamond from her grandmothers ring and she wore it when she was married. She said that way it felt like grandma was there. So what is your treasured piece of jewelry. I would love for you to share your stories.

Handcrafted Jewelry--My favorite gemstones

I thought that I would answer my own poll if you didn’t catch that I love most all of the things that we create with. But gemstones are my very favorite. Moss opal has quickly become one of my favorite stones.

Moss Opal belongs to the group of common opals. In contrast to precious opal that displays all the colors of the rainbow, common opal is opaque, rarely translucent and shows no play of color. Moss opal owns its attraction to dark greenish inclusions in its milky white body that resemble moss.
The most important deposits are located in Australia.

Ever since people have believed in the healing power of Opal. It is reported to be able to solve depressions and to help its wearer find the true and real love.

Opal is a birthstone for those who are born in October
Visit us at and let us know your favorite gemstone.

Handcrafted Jewelry which to choose, Simple loop - wrapped loop

When shopping for jewelry one of the key things to look for is the way the loops are made. The loop with the blue background is a simple loop the one on top a wrapped loop. The wrapped loop is the way that I prefer to make jewelry. This loop makes the piece more secure and there is very little chance of lost pieces. This method takes longer to complete a item. And more supplies. So these pieces will cost more, but it is well worth the difference in cost. Your child will not be able to pull on your necklace and have it come apart. The simple act of brushing your hair can pull apart a simple loop. So when looking for that perfect piece of handcrafted jewelry remember that chosing by color is important, style, stone, or crystal. These are all factors in your choice. But by far the most important one is the way it is put together. After all you want to have that perfect necklace, around for years to come. Come visit us at

new and beautiful handcrafted necklaces

The new items just posted are made with some great gemstones, The first one is made with glamous jasper and is handwired. This is my favorite way to create jewelry. This stone is new to us and is becoming one of my favorites is has soft tones and blends wonderfully with the freshwater pearls in a golden sand color. One of the other new necklaces is made with Ruby zolite. This stone is said to make changes of negative to postive and will boost your physical energy. This stone is beautiful the Ruby veining is of a dark red color and blends beautiful with the zolite green. This is a very unique one most of the ruby zolite is brighter green but this stone is deep and wonderful. Come and visit us at Total Delights

Handcrafted bracelets, Dragonfly

The Water Bug

Down below the surface of a quiet pond lived a little colony of water bugs. They were a happy colony, living far away from the sun. For many months they were very busy, scurrying over the soft mud on the bottom of the pond. They did notice that every once in a while one of their colony seemed to lose interest in going about with its friends. Clinging to the stem of a pond lily it gradually moved out of sight and was seen no more. "Look" said one of the water bugs to another,"one of our colony is climbing up the lily stalk. Where do you think she is going?" up,up,up it slowly went.... Even as they watched, the water bug disappeared from sight. It's
friends waited and waited but she never returned. "That's funny!" said one water bug to another..."wasn't she happy here?' asked a second...."Where do you suppose she went?" wondered a one had an answer. They were greatly puzzled.....

Finally one of the water bugs gathered it's friends together. "I have an idea, how about the next one of us who climbs up the lily stalk, promises that they will come back and tell us were he or she went and why!" 'We promise they said solemnly.
One spring day not long after the very water bug who had suggested the plan found himself climbing up the lily stalk. Up, up, up he went. Before he knew what was happening he had broken through the surface of the water and fallen into the broad and free lily pad above. When he awoke, he looked about with surprise....

He couldn't believe what he saw. A startling change had come over his body. His movement revealed four silver wings and a long tail. Even as he struggled he felt an impulse to move his wings.... The warmth of the sun soon dried the moisture from his new body. He moved his wings again and suddenly found himself above the water. He had become a DRAGONFLY! Swooping a dipping in great curves he flew through the air. He felt exhilarated in the new atmosphere. By and by the new dragonfly landed happily on a lily pad to rest. Then it was that he chanced to look below to the bottom of the pond. Why he was right above his old friends the water bugs! there they were scurrying around, just as he had been doing some time before. Then
the dragonfly remembered the promise. Without thinking, the dragonfly darted down.
Suddenly he hit the surface of the water and bounced away. Now that he was a dragonfly, he could no longer go into the water...... "I can't return!" he said in dismay. "At least I tried, But I can't keep my promise. Even if I could go back not one of the water bugs would know me in my new body. I guess that I'll just have to wait until they become dragonflies too. Then they'll understand what has happened to me, and where I went," and the dragonfly winged off happily into its wonderful new world of sun and air......Author Unknown

Debbie's newest creation then qassia have you heard about it

I want to show off the newest creation of Debs a chunky coral necklace, this is a beauty and it has matching earrings. So go and check out this and her other new items at

About Qassia
Qassia is a credit-driven intelligence engine coupled to a cascading tag-based web directory. What exactly does this mean? It means that Qassia will change your life.
Good stuff your websites will like
At Qassia, you can add your websites for free, and without having to add reciprocal backlinks. You'll get unlimited quality backlinks (as opposed to useless "no-follow" backlinks). You can also add intel. Short for "intelligence", intel is a tidbit of information. Qassia rewards users who add intel in three ways.
Backlinks You get one backlink for every piece of intel you add. Every intel will carry a direct backlink to one of your sites. So the more intel you add, the more backlinks you get.

Credit When you add intel, you also get credit, in the form of Qassia dollars. Your net worth in Qassia dollars determines how well your websites rank in our directory.

Revenue When your intel is displayed, you get 100% of the advertising revenue generated by that page. That is not a typo, by the way: we give you ALL of the gross ad revenue.

This means that website owners have triple incentive to contribute intel. The contributed intel will allow Qassia to become a vast repository of intelligence, with unrivalled original content. And a vast amount of original content draws traffic like honey draws ants.
So why am I putting this on my blog that is for handcrafted jewelry, Because it is a bonus for website owners or those who sell things from your blog. Backlinks are time consuming to gather and most of us are trying to write for our blogs so why not combine the two. Right now they are in beta testing so you have to have an invite from someone already there so consider this your invite

Swarovski Crystals

Swarovski crystals known to be the best in crystal today and just why.

Daniel Swarovski was an Austrian glass cutter and jeweler born in Bohemia. In 1892 he patented an electric cutting machine that facilitated the production of lead crystal glass jeweler. This process has made the Swarovski crystals the best to be had in the world of crystal. The cut and colors are brilliant and add so much to any piece of handcrafted jewelry created with them. But Jewelry isn’t their only use. Swarovski was also a sponsor for the Phantom of the Opera Film, in which the "standing model" of the chandelier was composed of Swarovski crystals. There have been replicas of the crown jewels made with Swarovski crystals. The latest thing that I have found with these great crystals is a

Down to the wire

Ok so , I guess I could use the wire line as a pun, but the truth of the matter is that we are down to just 2 more days for this months contest. I must admit that I have had better response than I thought we would have, And the goal for next month is to double the entries. This has been quite the journey, from the open house parties that Deb and I had to donating jewelry for fundraisers. To a full fledged website. This all began as a dream really just a passing thought. Could we really do this. Can we make a success of this. We have had our ups and downs, believers and doubters. Even at times wondering if we could make this work. But here we are about 14 months into it and feeling very good about the future of our little website. We have had increased traffic (ok ok I know anything is up from nothing) But as I work at this computer each day to better the site and do the things that others are helping me learn about. I feel that this is the thing that I am meant to do. That this will not just be a website about selling jewelry but a way to reach others. The waterbug story on our site has touched so many over the past few years. It has come to be the symbol that we look for in every shop we visit. And now with warm weather the thing that we lookfor each time we walk down the street. We want to help anyone who is struggling with the lost of a loved one. I have a as I call it a car jewel it hangs from my rear view mirror it is made of some very special crystals that belonged to my mom and at the end is a dragonfly. From his wings are smaller crystals that represent the birthstones of the ones that I have lost in the last few years. I know that they are watching over me. I just hope that they can be proud of the work that I have done, for it is because of them that I try so hard to be a success

Creating with pearls

Waiting for the mailman has become a great new pastime for me. That is waiting for my lastest bead order. Then the magic begins the opening of the package and then the indiviual little bundles. Each one with new treasures to make beautiful jewelry with. This order has my favorite pearls any kind will work, all the colors, shapes. Some artists want to work with crystals, and they have their place in my creations. Gemstones, anything from rich agates to pure black onyx. These all make for great jewelry. But if you mix these with the best, pearls you then have the ultimute in jewelry. I have said before that I have a passion for pearls and that is an understatement. Wearing jeans and a tee shirt then you can add a simple pearl bracelet or a pair of pearl earrings, keeping it simple. But dressing up then the pearls will make a real statement. Multi strand, single peart drop. or like this Pearl Necklace DB-150 This necklace will make that little black dress and you stand out in the crowd. Visit for more creations with pearls.

I am sorry

In my last post I said some things that I now fear hurt some feelings. And that was never my intent That post was created more for something to write, lets face it this blog is for promoting our website. And at times things to write don’t come easy. But to those I hurt I publicly apologize, You helped us get to where we are today and you were there in the beginning and every step of the way. We have appreciated everything you have done. I am encouraged that there are still so many good people in this world, I have been blessed to know just a few of them. And are still proud to call them friend.

feeling hope

So the past few weeks have been difficult to say the least but I have hopes of things changing. I have found some wonderful support for people with websites. They have so much info and resources for anything from fixing the photos to site maps and much more. I truly feel blessed to have found them. The other great thing is that they honestly want to help, there is no jealousy, just honest help. Something that I wasn't sure was there anymore, or maybe I just didn't know where to look. But thank goodness I did find them.

Talk about multi-tasking

So yesterday I had to take my youngest daughter to the emergency room. She is ok they took lots of blood and she is feeling like a pin cushion right now. But with having four kids and 3 grand-kids seems like I have spent my share of time at a doctors office or in a ER. So I never go without my tote bag and plenty to do. So 3 pairs of earrings and one bracelet later, and 4 to 5 tubes of blood. we have new jewelry and a daughter that is going to be fine.

Pearls, Pearls and if there is time more Pearls

Pearls, Pearls and if there is time more Pearls, as you can tell Pearls are a passion of mine and one of my favorite gems to create with They are the only gemstone formed within a living creature. Have been a symbol of wealth and sophistication. So now to look at some of the differences in pearls. Natural vs. Cultured. A natural pearl is actually begun as a foreign object inside an oyster’s inner body. In response to the intrusion the oyster goes into defensive mode and secretes nacre, a substance to protect itself from the object. Adding layer after layer till a beautiful pearl is formed. Natural pearls are very rare about one in 10,000 will produce a single natural pearl. Just recently, a double strand of 68 perfect natural pearls, know as the “Baroda Pearls” was auctioned at Christie’s Auction House for $7 million. Google “Baroda Pearls” to see a picture of these wonderful pearls. So because of the rarity of natural pearls, most of today’s pearls are cultured. In 1916 Kokichi Mikimoto patented the process of culturing pearls inside Akoya oysters in Japan. This then made pearls affordable to the public and the pearl craze began. Now cultured pearls are still actual pearls, similar in most ways to the natural pearl. The only difference is a small piece of polished shell or mantle tissue is introduced by hand to the oyster. The process from there is the same, to creating a pearl. Cultured pearls come from saltwater or freshwater mollusks. The freshwater ones can be found in lakes, rivers, ponds and other bodies of freshwater. The majority of the freshwater pearls today come from china. The Saltwater pearls come from oysters that live in the oceans and are in protected waters such as lagoons, The Akoya, South Sea and Tahitian pearls are the best know and are certainly deep sea treasures in there own right.

May's Birthstone "Emerald"

The Gemstone Emerald is the green variety of the mineral Beryl.Emerald is May 's birthstone.
The wonderful green color of emerald is unparalleled in the gem kingdom. Emerald's precious green color is caused by small amounts of chromium and enhanced by traces of iron. Unlike other beryls, emeralds usually contain inclusions and other flaws. These flaws are not looked on as negative aspects for emerald like they would be for other gemstones. Indeed, these flaws are considered part of the character of the stone and are used to assure the purchaser of a natural stone. Even artificial emeralds often contain flaws, however, as the process of growing artificial emeralds mimics the way nature does it (slow crystal growth from a molten mix). Nearly all emeralds, even many "natural" stones, have been treated to improve clarity, generally by immersing them in oil. For gemstones, a green colored oil is often used, "improving" the color as well. Unfortunately, this oil may evaporate over the years, making flaws appear where none were visible at the time of purchase. A high-grade mineral oil may be used to improve the appearance again. This month's contest has a freshwater and emerald green swarovski crystal bracelet as the prize. So make sure that you stop in and enter at
